Tsunami Relief for

India’s Andhra Pradesh

SPECIAL APPEAL FOR SUPPORT

Sherry Oliver, missionary to India, is leaving Friday for another mission trip to India. She is going to Andhra Pradesh, a state in India. (Map.) The Districts of Andhra Pradesh along the coast were badly hit. Her team is going to an area about 20 miles from the coast. She is able to take help directly to the people that need it. Pastor Daniel is FCMI's main partner in India. He is spending much of his time right now going over and helping out in the areas that are devastated. (Please pray for his strength...)

Sherry is leaving on Friday at 3 p.m. - and can take cash with her... she is also able to draw funds from an account while she is in India.

Sherry is pretty sure one of the villages she ministered in (near Kavali) was hard hit. The pastor she knows there does not have a phone - and so far, they have not heard from any of them. She says, "So many families would have been hit - they were all fishermen, I'm sure they were out fishing that day. Their homes are within a half mile of the beach and it's pretty flat there."

There was a news report of a village near there, in the District of Vishakhapatnam (see map, upper right corner) -- a whole village was destroyed, there is nothing left of that village.

We ask that you please pray for them -- and if anything -- that their hearts will be opened to the Lord. Sherry's friends in Vijayawada rsay they are still having aftershocks - there are cracks in some of the buildings. Vijaywada is 20 miles from teh coast.

If we can get some donations to her - she will carry the cash on the airplane and give it to the people. Otherwise - she will be there tillshe leaves Feb.11th. During that time, Rhonda White - one of the workers of Full Circle Ministries (FCMI) - will receive donations - and get them deposited into an account that Sherry can draw out while she is there and give to them.

Let's pray right now. Jesus---Lord - our hearts are torn over this disaster - and what so very many people are facing right now... thirst, hunger, disease, homelessness, fear, and grief. Lord... be a comfort to them. Open their hearts and minds to KNOW YOU AND SEEK AFTER YOU in this time. Lord... we ask for miracles to keep back the disease - to give extra strength - and especially Lord Jesus - open the hearts, eyes, and ears of so many who are able to help - let them do so now, without hesitation. Thank you Jesus. Amen.

I think this is an awesome opportunity! I have known Sherry for years - she is a long-time trusted friend of mine. I know her to be ever faithful to God’s work, and ever giving of herself. Someone we know and trust will be going right to where the Tsanami hit - and can be our hands, our smile, our love, and our encouragement to so many people afflicted by this horrendous disaster. Please send whatever you can - as quickly as you can. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE, as already the unburied bodies are giving off a horrendous stench. Cholera and other diseases are sure to follow.
